Frequently Asked Questions
What is a GLOW Dinner?
Launched in October 2019, GLOW Dinners was designed to be an experience for friends and acquaintances to come together in homes, enjoy a meal and engage in thoughtful dialogue surrounding our divided cultural moment.
Why GLOW Dinners?
Many young adults feel as if the world is a competitive place in which they have to fight for their existence. Even in places that are supposed to feel like home, their guard is continuously up, as if they’re on their own.
GLOW Dinners provide an opportunity for young adults to experience belonging through the Christian practice of hospitality. Around a dinner table, conversations about today’s important issues may be discussed without anyone feeling the need to keep their guard up. These dinners are not about setting aside our differences; they’re about coming together in spite of the differences that tend to divide us. Each dinner is designed to create conversations that lead to a greater understanding of each other’s ideas and experiences; and to discover a way to move forward together.
How often do GLOW Dinners take place?
GLOW Dinners is currently occurring on a monthly basis. Please check out our event calendar and social media posts for future dates.
Do I Need to Bring Anything as a Guest?
No, you do not have to worry about bringing anything except yourself. We do ask that you have an open mind and that you are willing to hear out the perspectives of others. This is a discussion, not a debate.
